NucSpot Live 488 is a green fluorescent dye that can cross intact cell membranes to label nuclear DNA in both live and fixed cells in cell health assays. It offers high DNA specificity without requiring a wash step and is well suited for live-cell imaging due to its low cytotoxicity. To enhance staining consistency in cell types with active efflux mechanisms, the product includes a vial of verapamil—an inhibitor that can help retain the dye inside cells during imaging.
Note: When imaged on the Atlas™ Imaging System, NucSpot Live 488 does not show fluorescence in the 375 nm channel, and it is suitable for multicolor imaging with blue probes.
Note: LICORbio also offers NucSpot Live 650 Nuclear Stain with far-red fluorescence for detection in the 640 nm channel.
NucSpot Live 488 PN 927-21980 contains 50 µL of NucSpot Live 488 Nuclear Stain, 1000X in DMSO. It also includes 100 µL of Verapamil HCl, 100 mM in DMSO.
