Cell culture is changing, and 3D applications are opening new possibilities. As scientists, we adapt—but we also know how challenging it can be to step into a new area with unfamiliar tools and workflows. To make that transition easier, we created a kit that helps you move from 2D to 3D culture with clear guidance and components you can trust.
Meet the LICORbio 3D Essentials Kit 1—with proven consumables and a guided workflow to help you generate strong preliminary 3D data with less trial and error. It’s designed to help you:
· Produce uniform spheroids
· Assess viability with a luminescent readout
· Image easily on the LICORbio Atlas™ Imager

LICORbio has validated this protocol and the kit components using the cell lines PANC-1, BxPC-3, Hep G2, T-47D, BT-474, and LNCaP. You may use your preferred cell line; however, please be aware that some cell lines do not readily form well-defined or uniform spheroids and may require additional additives (e.g., ECM and growth hormones) to form tight spheroids.
Research use only. Not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
Storage
• ULA 96-Well Plate: Store at RT. Protected from light.
• Cell Strainer: Store at RT
• Black-Wall 96-Well Plate: Store at RT
• 3D Glo ATP™ HTS Viability Assay Kit:
For long term, store components at -20 °C. Protect from light. Kit components are stable for at least 1 year from date of receipt when stored as recommended. 3D Glo ATP Buffer can be stored at 4 °C or room temperature for up to 48 hours without loss of activity.
Reconstituted 3D Glo ATP Assay Mix (Buffer plus Substrate) can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 hours or at 4 °C for up to 24 hours with about 5% loss of activity. The 3D Glo ATP Assay Mix is stable for up to eight freeze-thaw cycles, with less than 10% loss of activity. See Pack Insert for instructions on preparing the assay mix and aliquoting.
