Blank PRECOTES™ are precast polyacrylamide gels developed by SERVA to provide a versatile platform for isoelectric focusing (IEF) across any pH range. They are designed for flexible adaptation to user-specific electrophoresis conditions.
These gels have a thickness of 0.3 mm and are cast onto a GEL-FIX™™ support film. They contain only BisTris buffer at pH 6.5, making them “blank” gels with a minimal matrix that can be customized according to experimental requirements.
Prior to electrophoresis, Blank PRECOTES™ are equilibrated in the ampholyte mixture of choice to establish the desired pH gradient for IEF applications.
The shelf life is at least 12 months, either in the unmodified blank state (without ampholyte) or in the equilibrated form (with ampholyte, without urea).
